How we write the beauty horoscope

Each month we compute where the planets are, count which part of each sign's chart they fall in, and choose one look that suits the mood astrology gives that placement. The look is a suggestion. Your own face decides the details.

What astrology is, and what it is not

Western astrology is an old symbolic language for describing temperament and timing. It is not a measurement of personality and it has not been shown to predict events. Plenty of people read it anyway, mostly for fun: in a 2025 Pew Research Center survey, about 3 in 10 US adults said they consult astrology, tarot or fortune tellers at least once a year, and about 2 in 10 said they do it mainly for fun.

We write in that spirit. The column gives you a mood for the month and a look to match it. It never forecasts love, work, money or health.

A chart is a cast list

The simplest way to read any horoscope is as a play. Four pieces, each answering one question:

Twelve signs are four elements times three modes

You do not need to memorise twelve descriptions. Each sign is one of four elements and one of three modes. Elements describe the kind of energy; modes describe how it moves.

Fire is action, earth is the practical, air is ideas and talk, water is feeling. That is why Aries and Leo can share a fire sign's warmth and still differ: Aries starts things, Leo keeps them going.

How a month becomes a look

  1. Compute the skyWe calculate the position of the Sun, Moon and planets for the month from their orbital elements, and check the results against a published ephemeris.
  2. Count the houses from your signSun-sign columns use whole-sign houses: your sign is the 1st house, the next sign the 2nd, and so on. A Full Moon in Taurus is in a Scorpio's 7th house and a Leo's 10th.
  3. Read the moodPlanets in your 1st or 10th house lean toward being seen; in your 4th, 6th or 12th, toward home, routine and rest. Retrograde planets lean toward revisiting rather than starting.
  4. Choose a scenarioThat mood picks one of Tressaly's three looks: Everyday, Evening or Work.
  5. Choose one techniqueOne area, one method, with steps you can follow and the tools that make it easier.

What we never write

Your sign sets a mood. What suits your face depends on your features, your skin and your hair, which is what a Tressaly read looks at, on your own photo. How a read works.
